Long Path

CMC Hiking Trails

This patch is designed to celebrate the trails that have been built by the Catskill Mountain Club (CMC). Though similar in design to the regular CMC Hiking Trails patch, the completion patch has one significant difference – the addition of a star, which will be awarded only to those individuals who hike all of the CMC trails and submit an application showing the dates of each hike. Catskill 3500 Club

Interested in climbing all these peaks? In all there are 33 peaks that meet these criteria with the highest peak being Slide Mountain topping out at 4,180 ft. Anyone wishing to become a member must hike the 33 designated peaks on the tally list; and in a departure from the requirements of most other such clubs, climb Slide, Blackhead, Balsam and Panther mountains again in winter. Catskills Fire Tower

The Village of Saranac Lake and the Saranac Lake 6er Challenge invite you to climb the six Adirondack mountains that surround Saranac Lake. Once you have completed all six mountains, you are awarded a 6er patch and permission to ring the 6er bell in the Berkeley Green band shell. LEARN MORE »

Hiking Your Own Hike: From the Sea to the Summits

The New England National Scenic Trail (NET) is a 235-mile hiking trail route that has been in existence for over half a century. The NET travels through 41 communities in CT and MA, and is comprised primarily of the historic Mattabesett, Metacomet, and Monadnock (M-M-M) Trail systems. The hike begins at the Long Island Sound in Guilford, CT and ends at the MA/NH border in Royalston, MA. LEARN MORE »

Sleeping Giant Master Program

Completing the Giant Master challenge requires you to hike the 32 miles of blazed hiking trails in the park. The challenge includes connector trails and excludes the horse and cross-country ski trails.
